SimpliScan Privacy Policy

The short version: SimpliScan runs entirely on your own equipment. Your inventory data never leaves your network, and we collect nothing.

What SimpliScan is

SimpliScan consists of the SimpliScan Bridge (software you install on your own Windows PC alongside QuickBooks Desktop) and the SimpliScan mobile apps for Android and iOS, which connect to your Bridge over your local Wi-Fi network only.

Information we collect

None. SimpliScan has no cloud component, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. Specifically:

• Your inventory, sales, purchasing, and counting data is read from and written to your own QuickBooks company file and a local database on your own PC. It is never transmitted to Iron Foundry LLC or any third party.
• The mobile apps communicate exclusively with your Bridge on your local network. They make no internet connections.
• Operator names and PINs you create exist only on your Bridge PC. PINs are stored as salted hashes, never as plain text.
• The camera (if you enable camera scanning) is used only to read barcodes on-device; images are never stored or transmitted.
• The only license information encoded in your license file is your business name and a non-reversible fingerprint of your QuickBooks company file identity, used solely to validate the license offline.

Information you send us

If you contact support or purchase a license, we receive what you choose to send (e.g. your business name, email, and the company fingerprint shown in the app for license issuance). We use it only to provide the product and support, and never sell or share it. Payments are processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe), whose privacy policy governs payment data; we never see full card numbers.

Data retention and deletion

All operational data lives on your equipment, under your control — deleting it is as simple as uninstalling the software and removing C:\ProgramData\SimpliScan. For support or purchase records we hold, email us to request deletion.

Children

SimpliScan is business software and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We'll post any changes to this policy at this URL with a new effective date.
